Want to stay out of BKK but still get a bit of shopping in? You have two choices
THE EASY OPTION: The Paseo
Seacon Square / Paradise Park
Easily accessible with most of the main options, the Paseo is a franchise mall with a good deal of outside space for evening markets. It is often a lively, family friendly place in the evening. Also worth mentioning is Villa Market which is a small but surprisingly well stocked import supermarket.
Getting There Both the 1013 buses and many of the songteaw in the area go past Paseo. (DO NOT take the ones that go to the ARL or Bang Pli) and the fare will be 7B on the songteaw (10B after 10pm) and around 5-10B on the bus.
If you want the chance for a serious shopping trip then Seacon Square is a large, all purpose mall with attached department store (Robinson's) and supermarket (Tesco Lotus). It is built around a central atrium where there are often themed sales and there is a large IT section in the basement.
A little further down the road is Paradise Park which is a little more focused on clothing and accessories although there is a fresh market and discount kiosks in the basement level. Both malls have plenty of restaurants and coffee shops, and both have a cinema on the top floor although only certain viewings will be in English or have subtitles.
Getting There To get to Seacon/Paradise take a SMALL 1013 bus which runs about every 30-40 minutes from Hua Dta Kae. When you wish to return, cross using the bridge in the picture above and wait for the same bus. The fare is 18B each way (36B return). NOTE: Depending on the times the return bus may cross over Lat Krabang Road to do a U-turn and come back - don't panic!
